Beyond the regular functions IAB celebrates Besakhi / Vesakhi and every year.

As the Indian population is growing, the role IAB is playing in the Bonn area will continue to be of great importance. One day our children will be proud of this association to have given them not only the local German language and English language but also given them the cultural necessity their mother tongue Hindi and Punjabi to hold them strongly to their roots.

On 25. August 2007 IAB planed a „Mega Event „ with 4 major Associations Kerala Association,  Deutsch-Indische Gesellschaft and Deutsch-Indische-Pakaistanische Forum “60 Years of Independence of Pakistan and India”. This way they brought 4 all the Bonner associations together and celebrated this event with more than 1800 guests in a hall having 1100 capacity.  It was a unique event, it had never happened in Germany. This Function ended with “Total Harmony” having guests from different parts of the word.

On 1st Nov. 2008 we had another Diwali Function. If you go through the program, you will find that the second generation Indians had planned and organised this show. The show ended with lots of appreciation for the new generation and to the parents to guide the children to live in both the cultures maintaining the roots. Since then the second and third generation join hands and plan the major events.

Again in Jan. 2010 IAB planed another “Mega Event” “60 Years of Indian Republic “ The entrance had to be closed as the capacity of the hall reached more than 120%.
